Yeah!
We’ve booked the first part of our trip – Our overland trek from Nairobi to Cape Town, leaving 13 Feb 2008.
It will be 51 days on a truck, sleeping mainly in tents. We will be taking in:
Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti Nation al Park
4 days on Zanzibar Island
Several other national parks
Lake Malawi
Stay in a houseboat on Lake Kariba
Some white water rafting
Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia & South Africa
Needless to say we are very excited. We’re just about in a position to book our flights. We went into Trailfinders yesterday to ask a few more Questions.
Basically our RTW route is going to by:
London – Nairobi, Overland to Cape Town – Singapore – Auckland – Raratonga (Cook Islands) – LA – London.
There are just a few things to decide on:
We can easily add a return flight to Sri Lanka (for an extra £100 it seems rude not to)
We are also tempted to come home via NY (and possibly Guyana but that is a whole other story). The only problem is for that we would have to buy our own internal flight from LA-NY.
