Just a very quick post because the internet here is veeerrrrryyyy slow and expensive. We have had a pretty hectic time so far. Unbelievable we have onle been away for just over two weeks but we have visited three countries, been on safari, camped out in the Serengetti, spent a few days at a lovely resort in Zanzibar, been snorkling, spent some very long drives on our truck, shopping for carvings of hippos and are now relaxing in a very nice campsite on lake malawi.
Needless to say is going to be futile to try and upload any photos but we have some good ones. I will try and do that when we get to Cape Town at the beginning of April.
Having a fab time. More details to follow…

I finish work today
) I have a good job, that i like and a comfortable life and today I am giving that all up… But on the other hand it is blowing a gale and snowing here in Newcastle and it is about 30 degrees and sunny in South East Africa.
Our house is all packed up – we have loads of boxes to take down to Chester tonight (Jo and Nick are kindly lending us a section of their palatious garage for us to store our stuff).
This is the sum amount of clothes that I am going to be taking with me:

Add a sleeping bag and an mp3 player and I am all set ;o)
To be honest, this is all only just beginning to sink in – having to sort the house out and with the situation in Kenya, we have always had something to think about to stop us getting too excited - now we are packed and ready to go… almost.
Next stop Jomo Kenyatta Airport*.
*via, of course, Chester, dinner with Friends in Newcastle, Durham to see Gem’s mam and dad, Billericay to see my mum and dad (not to mention some last minute shopping/packing) and Heathrow.
PS. I had intended to post some pictures of our leaving party in Popolos, but alas we didn’t take any
( Needless to say we had lots of fun and thank you to everyone who could make it!
